J'Accuse (1919)
"Abel Gance's powerfully epic 3-hour anti-war movie was not an easy one to score but I got deeply moved and inspired by the crushing tragedy of the main character Jean, a poet who lives for the arts but loses his mind in the war, laughing at the naïveté of his former self. I used synthesizers, rhythm boxes and some ragged guitar parts, trying to reflect the moral desolation where much seems doomed."
